About Us

SoCal Breakers is the original, and one and only, girls fastpitch softball organization in North San Diego County with a rich and successful history of developing premier softball players. We offer advanced player development from some of the most experienced coaches in the area.

The club was founded in 1992 and is led by Owner/Coach Brant Beddow with 30 years' coaching experience. Our coaches' commitment is to see each player learn, grow, and strive to their greatest potential while performing on a highly competitive softball team. And while these coaches have spent plenty of time coaching their own kids, they do not have any daughters playing on our teams.

History With Results

Our success speaks for itself! In 2017, the SoCal Breakers 18U, 16U and 12U teams all competed at the PGF Nationals finishing 9th, 17th, and 24th respectively. Only one other San Diego area team even qualified for these Nationals. Our continued success and reputation allow us to routinely compete in the top Tournaments, Invitation-Only Events, and Showcases while maintaining a strong and supportive softball family.

Besides our success on the field, the SoCal Breakers organization has always strived for high academic standards while learning the fundamentals of fastpitch softball. This gives our players the opportunity to become visible to college recruiters while we assist in the recruitment process. Our statistics do the talking: 68% of our players get picked up by D1 colleges and 95% of our players receive college softball scholarships. Since 2000, we have assisted over 150 student-athletes obtain scholarships at some of the best institutions in the country.

SoCal Breakers at 2018 PGF National

Our 12u team played in the Premier Division after going undefeated in the Southern California Qualifier. After competing against the best teams in the country, our girls placed 9th in the most prestigious tournament of the year, going farther than any other San Diego area team.

The SoCal Breakers 18u team also played in the Premier Division after receiving an automatic berth based on a strong 9th-place performance in the 2017 PGF Premier National Championship. Finishing 33rd this year, our girls, once again, had the strongest finish among the few San Diego area teams in the 18u division who even had the opportunity to play in this year's competitive tournament.

We are so proud of the hard work and dedication of our amazing student-athletes, who represent what the SoCal Breakers Organization is all about.
